Choosing a bike

Where do I start when choosing a fatbike?

First consider how you will use the bike. Then compare fit, weight, battery and included equipment. The product page describes the version you are ordering.

How do I check whether a bike suits my height?

Use the height guidance for the model as an initial indication. Your inside leg measurement, riding position and reach to the handlebars also matter. Ask for advice if you are unsure between two sizes.

Where can I find a model’s weight?

Check the specifications of your chosen bike and whether the stated weight includes the battery. Ask us to confirm if weight matters for lifting or transport.

How much weight can my bike carry?

Follow the maximum load for your version. Include the rider, any passenger and luggage as specified by the manufacturer. A long saddle does not automatically mean passengers are permitted.

How do I compare the range of two bikes?

Compare battery capacity and the conditions of the stated test. Assistance level, load, wind, temperature and tyre pressure affect range; a quoted distance is not guaranteed on every ride.

Are different versions of the same model identical?

No. Model year, generation and version can use different connections and parts. Keep the exact model name and identification plate details; these also help when replacing parts later.

What is included with my bike?

The selected product page and order confirmation specify what is included. Check the battery, charger, accessories and promotional items there. An accessory shown in a photo is not automatically included with every version.

Will my bike arrive boxed or assembled?

That depends on your chosen version. Assembly is included when stated in your order or agreed separately. Also read our shipping policy for complete bikes.

Can I get advice about a model before buying?

Yes. Tell us your height, how you intend to use the bike and which models you are considering. We can help via WhatsApp.

Can I visit, collect an order or take a test ride?

Contact us beforehand to discuss the options, location and any appointment needed. Do not visit a correspondence or returns address without an appointment.

Finding the right part

How do I know whether a part fits my bike?

Compare the model, generation, dimensions, voltage and all connections with the product description. A matching model name or connector colour alone is insufficient. You can start with our parts selection guide.

Which photos help you advise me about a part?

Send an overview of the bike, the identification plate, the existing part and clear photos of the connectors. Make sure labels and connections are readable. Tell us what you want to replace.

Where can I find my bike’s exact version?

Check the identification plate, purchase confirmation and labels on the current parts. A sticker saying only V8 or V20 is sometimes insufficient to identify the generation.

Does a red or black connector guarantee compatibility?

No. Also compare the shape, pins, wiring harness, voltage and associated electronics. Use colour as one check, not as the only evidence that two parts work together.

Can I use a part from another brand?

Only if the specifications and connection demonstrably match and the combination is suitable. Visual similarity is insufficient. Have the combination checked first if you are unsure.

Does a V20 part also fit a V20 Pro or Cross?

This varies by part and generation. Use only the models listed for that particular version. Send photos if your version is not explicitly mentioned.

Are OUXI V8 and C80 parts interchangeable?

Some products list several models, but this does not apply to every part. Compare the exact version and connections before ordering.

What should I check when choosing a cable?

Check both ends, the number of pins, connector shape, length and intended use. Do not force connections or cut cables to make an incompatible part fit.

My model is not in the selection guide. What now?

Send the model details and photos of the part via WhatsApp. We will check whether our range includes a suitable version.

Can I get help before ordering the wrong part?

Yes. Share the product link you are unsure about together with your bike details. If in doubt, wait until the version is clear before ordering or fitting it.

Controllers, displays & sets

What should I compare when choosing a new controller?

Compare the permitted voltage, wiring harness, connections and supported motor/display combination. Use the specifications of the actual controller and your current system.

How do I choose a replacement display?

Check the model, generation, voltage, connection and compatibility with the controller. Identical appearance or pin count does not prove that the parts communicate correctly.

Can I combine any controller with any display?

No. The controller and display must be intended for the same compatible combination. Consult the product description or ask us to check the combination.

What does a controller set mean?

A set combines the offered controller with a matching display. Check which products and versions you select; the set must also suit your bike’s motor and other electronics.

What information do you need for a V20 set?

Specify the full V20 version and generation. Send photos of the current display, controller label and motor connector. A Pro, Cross or NFC version may require a different combination.

What information do you need for a V8 or C80 set?

Send the exact OUXI version, controller label, current display and connections. Do not choose based only on connector colour; compare the rest of the wiring harness too.

Can I simply switch to an NFC display?

No. Check whether the NFC version suits your generation and controller. Also check what is included and the NFC operating instructions for that product.

Is a GT2000 display the same as another HC80 display?

Treat model-specific versions as separate products. Use a GT2000 part only for the combination stated in its description; the name HC80 alone is insufficient.

What does speed-unlockable mean for a part?

The part may be intended for a combination with modified assistance. This does not mean the bike is approved for public-road use. Check the product information and the rules under Road safety.

Do I need to change settings after replacement?

Follow the manual for the exact installed combination. Do not copy settings from another model. Report an error code with photos before changing values at random.

Battery & charger

How do I choose a replacement battery?

Compare the model, nominal voltage, casing, mounting and electrical connection. The battery must also match the controller and charger. Ask for advice before connecting a different version.

Can a battery with the same voltage still be unsuitable?

Yes. Its shape, connection, pin assignment and other specifications may differ. Voltage alone therefore does not prove that the battery works safely with your bike.

How do I check which charger I need?

Compare the battery manufacturer’s instructions and original charger label with the offered replacement. Connector shape alone is insufficient; ask us to check if in doubt.

Can I use a universal charger?

Use only a charger approved by the manufacturer for your battery. Do not connect a charger merely because its plug fits.

How do I charge my battery?

Follow the supplied battery and charger manuals, including charging temperature and connection sequence. Check for visible damage first and use only the correct charger.

How long does charging take?

This depends on the battery, charger and remaining charge. Consult the specifications for your combination. A charging time for another model is not a reliable guide.

Can I charge the battery while it is in the bike?

Only if your model’s manual permits it. Check the specified charging conditions and make sure the charging port and charger are undamaged.

What should I do if the battery is hot, damaged or swollen?

Stop using and charging it. Do not return a damaged, leaking, hot or swollen battery as a normal parcel. Contact us to arrange a safe next step.

How should I store a battery that I will not use for a long time?

Follow the storage temperature, recommended charge level and inspection interval in the battery manual. Do not leave the battery empty for a long period, and check its charge during storage.

Where can I take an old bike battery?

Ask us or the manufacturer for a suitable collection point and instructions for handing it in. Report any damage beforehand so safe transport can also be arranged.

Tyres, brakes & drivetrain

How do I find the correct tyre size?

Read the size on your current tyre’s sidewall and compare it with the rim and bike specifications. Match both diameter and width; the term fatbike alone is insufficient.

How do I choose a suitable inner tube?

Compare wheel size, supported tyre width, valve type and valve length. Check the product description against the size on your current tyre.

What tyre pressure should I use?

Use the permitted values for the tyre, rim and bike. Within those limits, choose a pressure suitable for your load and use. One general pressure for all fatbikes is not reliable.

My tyre keeps losing air. What can I check?

Have the tyre, tube, rim tape and valve checked for the cause. Replacing only the tube will not help if the sharp object or damage remains.

How do I know which brake pads fit?

Compare the brake caliper brand and model with the shape and size of the pads. A photo of the old pads and caliper helps us advise you.

Can I fit any brake disc?

No. Check diameter, thickness, mounting and compatibility with your braking system. Have changes to brakes or adapters assessed by a qualified person.

Which brake fluid does my brake need?

Use only the type specified by the brake manufacturer. Do not mix different fluid types. Have hydraulic brakes serviced by someone with the appropriate knowledge.

Which chain do I need?

Check the drivetrain, number of gears and chain specification. There is no universal chain size for all fatbikes. Have the required length checked too.

Are a cassette and a freewheel the same?

No. They are different systems with different mounting methods. Check which system your rear wheel uses before choosing a replacement sprocket set.

Can I replace a wheel or brake part myself?

This requires suitable tools and knowledge of correct installation. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, including tightening torques. If unsure, have a bike mechanic check the bike before riding.

Maintenance & assembly

What should I check before a ride?

Check tyres, braking, lights, visible damage and the security of the battery and wheels. Do not continue riding if you are unsure about a part needed for safe use.

How often does my bike need maintenance?

Follow your model’s maintenance schedule. Daily use, rain, dirt and heavy loads may require more frequent servicing. Do not wait for a scheduled service if a new noise or fault develops.

How should I clean my bike?

Use a soft sponge and a suitable bicycle cleaner. Follow the battery and display instructions and let the bike dry after cleaning.

Can I use a pressure washer?

Do not use a pressure washer or steam cleaner. The powerful jet can force water into unwanted places. Clean carefully according to the manual.

How should I maintain the chain?

Clean and lubricate the chain with a suitable product. Remove excess lubricant and keep oil off brake discs and pads.

What should I do after riding on wet or salted roads?

Carefully remove dirt and road salt and let the bike dry. Check the drivetrain and visible connections. Follow your model’s maintenance instructions.

Can I simply tighten loose bolts extra hard?

No. Use the specified tightening torques and suitable tools. Overtightening can damage parts; have any unclear fastenings checked.

Where can I find assembly instructions?

Check the product page and supplied documentation. If the correct manual is missing, send us the product name and version before starting installation.

Which jobs should I leave to a professional?

Have work on brakes, steering, wheel attachment and electrical parts done by a qualified person if you are not familiar with the instructions or required tools.

What should I check after fitting a part?

Check installation and operation according to the manual before using the bike. If you notice an error code, leak, play or unusual noise, stop and have the cause assessed.

Faults & troubleshooting

My bike will not turn on. What information should I provide?

Tell us the model, battery status, what the display does and when the problem started. Send photos of the battery, display and labels. Do not open the battery or controller to investigate internally yourself.

What does an error code on my display mean?

The meaning varies by display and version. Note the full code and send a photo of the screen and model details. Use the manual for your exact combination.

The display works but the assistance does not. What now?

Provide any error code and tell us whether the problem began after maintenance or replacement. Have the combination and connections checked before replacing parts at random.

My display switches off while riding. Can I continue?

Stop somewhere safe and have the cause checked. Tell us whether it happens over bumps, under load or after charging. Do not keep using a system that works unreliably.

The bike does not work after fitting a new part. What should I send?

Send your order number, details of the old and new parts, labels and connections. Describe the installation steps and any error code. Do not force connectors or modify wiring.

A connector does not fit. How do I solve this?

Stop installation. Compare the version and connections again and ask for advice. Cutting off a connector, bending pins or forcing a connection is not an appropriate solution.

My brakes are less effective. What should I do?

Do not use the bike until the cause has been identified and resolved. Have the pads, disc and braking system checked by a qualified person.

I hear a new noise from the wheel or drivetrain. What now?

Stop if there is rubbing, play or another unexplained noise. Describe when it occurs and take photos or videos only while stationary. Have the cause assessed before riding again.

My battery or charger appears faulty. Can I send it back?

Contact us first and describe its condition. Batteries may require special transport. Never ship a damaged battery without agreed instructions.

What information helps assess a fault more quickly?

Send the model, version, order number, description of the problem and any error code. Photos or a short video may help, but their absence does not automatically rule out a warranty claim.

Road safety

When does a fatbike fall under electric bicycle rules?

With a maximum motor power of 250 watts, pedalling required and pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. A different version may fall under other vehicle rules.

May a throttle propel the bike faster than 6 km/h without pedalling?

In that case the bike does not meet ordinary e-bike rules. Appropriate vehicle approval is required for public-road use.

Is a modified high-speed fatbike automatically permitted on public roads?

No. A modified bike that does not comply with the applicable vehicle rules may not be used there.

Do I need a driving licence for an ordinary electric bicycle?

Not for a bike that meets e-bike rules. Other vehicle categories may have different requirements.

Does an ordinary electric bicycle need a registration plate?

Not if it meets e-bike rules. Low-speed mopeds, mopeds and speed pedelecs have different requirements.

Is a helmet compulsory on an ordinary electric bicycle?

According to current Dutch national information, no; wearing a helmet is nevertheless sensible. Check the Dutch government website for changes.

Is there a nationwide minimum age for an ordinary e-bike?

Not under the current rules. You should still assess whether the rider can control the bike safely.

Can I hold my phone while cycling?

No. Stop in a safe place before using your phone in your hand.

Where can I check the current rules?

Read the latest Dutch government guidance on electric bicycles and fatbikes. Rules and announced changes can change.

Which rules apply if I use the bike in another country?

Before travelling, check that country’s government guidance on vehicle approval and use. Dutch information does not automatically apply at your destination.

How do I place an order?

Choose the correct version, add it to your cart and check the products, quantities and address. Then complete payment using one of the offered methods.

Where can I see the available payment methods?

The current options are shown at checkout. Availability may depend on your order and the payment provider.

Can I pay later or in instalments?

Choose this option only if it is offered at checkout. Read the payment provider’s terms first. We cannot guarantee availability or acceptance for every order.

Do prices include VAT?

Consumer prices include applicable VAT. Shipping costs and selected extras are shown before you place the final order.

How do I know my order has been received?

You will receive an order confirmation by email. Check your spam folder too. Contact us if payment has been processed but you cannot find a confirmation.

My payment failed. What can I do?

Check whether money was debited and whether you received an order confirmation. If unsure, contact us before ordering again to avoid a duplicate order.

Can I still change my order or address?

Send the change and your order number as soon as possible. We will check what is still possible during processing and shipping; changes cannot always be made.

Can I cancel my order before delivery?

Clearly tell us that you wish to cancel the purchase. Where a right of withdrawal applies, it can also be exercised before delivery. Read our returns policy.

Which promotion or gift applies to my order?

Check the terms and included products for your chosen version. The confirmed terms at purchase apply; promotions for another version are not automatically added.

How do I request an invoice or order details?

Contact us with your order number and the email address used. Do not share full payment card details or passwords; these are not needed to find your order.

Shipping & delivery

What is the usual delivery time for individual parts?

For in-stock parts delivered in the Netherlands, the product-page promise applies: order before 23:59, receive it tomorrow. A different product delivery time or separately agreed delivery date takes precedence. Delivery to Belgium is generally expected within 2–4 working days after dispatch. See our shipping policy for other destinations.

Does next-day delivery also apply to every complete bike?

A general delivery promise for parts does not automatically apply to bikes. For complete bikes, stock, version, assembly and transport scheduling matter. The agreement at purchase determines delivery.

How much does shipping cost?

The applicable costs are shown before checkout. They may vary by destination, product size and delivery method. Free-shipping offers are subject to the stated terms.

Can you deliver to Belgium or another country?

Available destinations are shown at checkout. If your address is not accepted, contact us to discuss options, costs and timing.

Will I receive a tracking code?

For parcels, you will receive a shipping notification with tracking once available. For special transport, information may be provided through a delivery appointment.

My tracking only shows a created label. What does that mean?

A label does not mean the parcel has been handed to the carrier. Check later scans and contact us if the agreed delivery is unclear.

Are weekend orders processed immediately?

Follow the delivery promise and any different delivery time stated for the product or your purchase. Holidays or stock issues may affect the schedule. We will inform you of any relevant delay.

What should I do if my delivery is delayed?

Contact us with your order number. We will check the status and next step. Full information on delivery times is in our shipping policy.

Tracking says delivered, but I received nothing. What now?

Tell us and provide your order number. We will investigate with the carrier. A delivery scan does not automatically remove your rights.

My order arrived damaged or incomplete. What should I do?

Contact us and describe what is missing or damaged. Photos of the product and packaging help the investigation. Your statutory rights do not automatically lapse if you have no photos.

Returns & exchanges

What cooling-off period applies to an online purchase?

As a consumer, you can usually withdraw up to 14 days after the day you receive the goods. You then have another 14 days to return them. See the details and exceptions in our returns policy.

How do I notify you that I want to return something?

Send a clear withdrawal notice by email, WhatsApp or letter. Preferably include your name, order number and products. Our model form is useful but optional; prior approval is not a condition for a valid withdrawal.

Must the original packaging still be sealed?

No. You may inspect the product as needed to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. Use the original packaging if you have it; suitable replacement packaging is also permitted.

Can I return an installed or used part?

Installation does not automatically remove the cooling-off period. Use beyond what is necessary for inspection can cause demonstrable loss of value, for example damaged connectors or modified cables. See the returns policy.

Can I return electronics or discounted products?

A product is not automatically excluded because it is electronic, speed-unlockable or discounted. Only applicable statutory exceptions may limit the cooling-off period; see our returns policy.

Who pays return shipping costs?

For ordinary withdrawal, you pay direct return costs if properly informed before purchase. If we sent the wrong item or a statutory warranty claim is valid, we cover the necessary costs of resolving it.

How do I return a complete bike?

Arrange transport or personal return with us beforehand. Our returns policy lists Popovstraat 32 in Zwolle as the return location for complete bikes. Individual parts and batteries have separate return instructions.

What does return transport for a complete bike cost?

Our current policy states €100 including VAT for return transport arranged by us following withdrawal, provided this was properly disclosed beforehand. We do not charge that transport fee if you bring the bike back or arrange transport yourself. It is not a cancellation penalty.

When will I receive my refund?

Within 14 days of your withdrawal notice. Unless we collect the item, we may wait until we receive it or proof of dispatch, whichever comes first. A full withdrawal also includes reimbursement of the cheapest standard delivery offered. See the returns policy for details.

Can I exchange a part?

We are happy to discuss an exchange. Send your order number and desired version. An exchange request does not change your statutory withdrawal or warranty rights.

Warranty & contact

How long does the statutory warranty last?

In the Netherlands, statutory warranty has no fixed general expiry date. You may expect a product to be sound under normal use. Product type, price and promises all matter. Read our warranty policy.

What additional warranty do you state for parts?

Our policy states one year for non-electronic parts and six months for electronic parts. These additional periods do not limit the statutory warranty. A more favourable promise made at purchase remains applicable.

What warranty applies to a complete bike?

Check the terms for the model and your purchase. An additional manufacturer’s or seller’s warranty sits alongside your statutory rights. Ask us to explain any unclear condition.

How do I report a fault?

Contact us with a description and preferably an order number or other proof of purchase. Photos and a video may help. Stop using any product that may be unsafe.

Does fitting something myself void my warranty?

Not automatically. Damage from incorrect installation or an unsuitable modification is assessed in relation to the fault. Working on the bike does not automatically remove all statutory rights.

Are wear parts and batteries always excluded from warranty?

No. Normal wear differs from an unexpectedly early fault. We assess the cause and what you could reasonably expect from the product under normal use.

Who pays for repairs and transport under the statutory warranty?

For a valid statutory warranty claim, we cover necessary repair or replacement and associated costs. First give us the opportunity to investigate and resolve the problem.

Do I have to contact the manufacturer myself?

For a purchase from FatbikesForYou, we remain your contact for statutory warranty. We will discuss how assessment and an appropriate solution are arranged.

How can I submit a complaint?

Send your complaint, description and order number to info@fatbikesforyou.nl or via WhatsApp. We aim to provide a substantive response within 14 days and will let you know if further investigation is needed.

How can I reach FatbikesForYou for personal advice?

Message us via WhatsApp on +31 6 43224955 or email info@fatbikesforyou.nl. You can also use our contact page.

Follow the instructions for your exact version when assembling and using it. The terms agreed at purchase and your statutory rights remain applicable.
